David Wade biography (b. 1911, Minden, La.; d. May 11, 1990) reached the rank of lieutenant general and assumed command of SAC's Second Air Force, Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana on August 1, 1963. Paul DeWitt Adams (1906-1987), born in Heflin, Alabama, was commissioned to the infantry from West Point in 1928. He served with the 34th Infantry and 8th Infantry Division.
